NEW TIMING INFO FOR SENATE RRF VOTE

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer continues to assure us that a floor vote to replenish the Restaurant Revitalization Fund is coming. But unexpected last-minute opposition to the Ukraine aid bill has forced him to delay other Senate activities for the week.

The revised plan is for a vote to replenish RRF around the middle of next week (May 25). Obviously things could slip further, but what’s important is the continued commitment from Senator Schumer that our vote is next in the legislative lineup.

We have fanned out across the country with our state restaurant association partners to shore up those Senators who support replenishing the RRF with emergency spending, and working to persuade those Senators still on the fence.

To avoid a Senate filibuster, we need 60 Senators to support this effort when it comes to a vote.
